Why a control print matters
A known control is the quickest boundary test in this workflow. If fixed clean geometry fails in the same way, stop repeatedly editing the client stencil. If the control is clean, move back upstream before touching hardware settings.

First decide whether the weakness is visible in the finished digital file or appears only on paper. Then compare a known test sheet. If fixed clean geometry is also faint, paper, power, density, and model-specific maintenance move higher in the troubleshooting order.
Current manufacturer support commonly separates three possibilities: the file has no usable marks, the transfer paper or loading/preparation is wrong, or the printer path itself needs model-specific troubleshooting. A known self-test or fixed test sheet helps separate those layers.
Wrong physical size is usually a document or print-path problem before it is a print-head problem. Check the prepared PDF dimensions, loaded paper size, Fit/Shrink/Crop/Borderless settings when exposed, and measure a known scale mark such as the 50 mm check.
