Artist applications

Application terms for this event.

Cincinnati Tattoo Arts Convention is selectable in the current Villain Arts 2027 booth-holder registration. Villain Arts currently lists a 10 x 10 booth at $750 for up to two tattoo artists, with a 50% deposit to hold the booth and the balance due 30 days before the event. Artists are vetted for an approved Villain Arts artist account before they can be added to a booth roster. No separate public 2027 application cutoff is listed, so confirm live availability in the portal before booking travel.

Deadline rule

No separate public 2027 application cutoff is listed. Under the current Villain Arts policy, booth balances are due 30 days before the event.

Shared organizer policy

What the event asks from artists.

These requirements are set by Villain Arts and apply across its events, not only to this city. Confirm the current terms with the organizer.

  • At least 2 years of tattoo-shop experience for Villain Arts artist-account approval
  • Solid tattoo portfolio for Villain Arts artist-account approval
  • Completed apprenticeship for Villain Arts artist-account approval

After acceptance

  • Cincinnati Health Department Temporary Body Art License for event tattooing outside a licensed establishment
  • Temporary-event site inspection and local body-art approval through Cincinnati Health Department

Licenses and permits

Check the event rules and the local tattoo requirements.

Cincinnati Health Department licenses and inspects temporary body-art events inside city limits. Anyone performing body art outside a licensed establishment at a temporary event must use the city's Temporary Body Art License process: notify the department, complete the Temporary BA Event Application, pay the applicable license fee and return the required paperwork.

Ohio allows local boards of health to issue time-limited approval for a specific body-art event and requires an inspection of the temporary site. Cincinnati publishes the exact local application route, but its current public body-art page does not state the temporary-event fee amount or a filing deadline. Confirm both with Environmental Health before paying for travel.

Booth approval and legal permission to tattoo are separate. Use the state guide as a starting point, then follow the event-specific regulator or organizer filing above.

Known costs not included in the booth figure

  • Local artist, location and temporary-event license or permit fees
  • Additional badges beyond the current booth allocation
